Sahil verma

Hello, I’m Sahil Verma, born in Unnao district, and then shifted to Lucknow for primary education. From an early age I dreamt of becoming a martial artist and that dream was realized when Indian Baaz Sports Academy (IBSA) came up close to my home. I trained under Vaibhav Sir and Mansi Ma’am where I have systematically acquired the art of martial arts over the last four years.

Through this journey, I not only developed my physical skills and knowledge but also evolved as a person, nurturing discipline, confidence, and resilience. Today, I am honored to be a coach and member of the core team at IBSA and help others on their journey to strength, discipline, and success.

My day in sports started as a little moment in school – when I saw Indian Baaz Academy come to show us a self-defense session in MMA. I was born in a middle-class Muslim family where girls had a very restricted freedom, and therefore, for me, sports once became an unattainable dream. I still recall standing by watching and wishing I could join it. At that time my coach Vaibhav Yadav came to me and asked, “do you want to try?” My heart said yes, but my lips said no, because my family would never do that.

With courage, and the help of my coach, I began to train gradually. At first I had taunts — people said, “She practices with boys, who will marry her?” But my mother encouraged me saying: “When you succeed, the same people will stand in a line to praise you.”

I worked hard and hard, and eventually even my father started to support me. I kept trying and trying, my determination paid off, I won Gold at Lucknow District Level, my first step to success. And then came the day my coach and I had been waiting for: on 17th November 2022 I won my first National Gold Medal in Muay Thai at MP Dewas.

The same people who used to criticize me, greeted me with garlands and honor. Today, as a proud member of the Indian Baaz Sports Academy’s Core Team and a skilled Coach, I am both inspired and humbled by my role in shaping the future of sports, reinforcing that dreams are indeed attainable – with a mix of courage, hard work, and the right mentorship.

I am from a middle class family belonging to Khalispur village where schools were scarce and sports were almost alien to the people. My quest started the day I went with my father to apply for my studies. That’s when I first saw students of Indian Baaz Sports Academy (IBSA) training in self-defense. Because of the determination and passion they put in, it lit a fire in me.

At first my father was concerned due to my young age, and then many tried to discourage me with their statements that martial arts was dangerous. But I held on to my dream. With persistence I persuaded my father and got started. I became a National Gold Medalist in Muay Thai in June 2022 and I’ve won my first Gold Medal at the District Muay Thai Championship in 2021.

Today, I’m an Assistant Coach and Core Team Member at IBSA, inspiring and training the next generation of champions.

From childhood, I used to watch athletes and they won medals on TV so I used to dream that one day I too could win medals for my country by combining studies and sports. I came from a village and didn’t have that chance early in life. But when I completed my 12th, my life changed when the Indian Baaz Sports Academy (IBSA) opened a stones throw away from my home.

With their support, Vaibhav Sir and Mansi Ma’am, I started my training on 8th November 2021. I was determined and kept on working through the family problems. My perseverance was worth it- I won 2 Gold Medals in the Lucknow District Kalaripayattu Championship followed by 2 Gold Medals at the State level followed by a Silver Medal at the 38th National Championship.

Today I am proud to be an Assistant Coach and Core Team Member at IBSA and help others transform their health, mindset, and life through sports.

Jyoti

Hello, my name is Jyoti and I am from Bhaliya, Kakori. My sports career started in September 2021 during my time in college, when I signed up to the Indian Baaz Sports Academy (IBSA) at the age of 16. I’m a small girl from a small village, who never thought I could come this far-but with the unconditional support from my Guru ji and Ma’am ji, I made my dream a reality.

I have played in various tournaments over the years and in 2021 I won my first Gold Medal. What’s even more special is that I am an IBSA product myself, having once been a student and now an Assistant Coach and Core Team Member.

I thank Team IBSA for forging my path and I invite others to join and transform their lives through sports as I did.

My Experience with Indian Baaz Sports Academy

Hello, my name’s Samiksha Singh Chauhan and I’m here to share my story with you.

I grew up as a regular girl with not a single sports background, yet hidden deep inside, lay a dream of being an athlete. Until one life-changing day, the dream seemed far away. On 8th November 2021, the doors of Indian Baaz Sports Academy (IBSA) opened just 2 km from my village.

I still remember my first day at the academy, inquisitive, excited, and a bit nervous. With encouragement and support from my coach, I started to slowly change, from a person who only dreamed of sport to a person who experienced it.

Today, I am the proud spokesperson for Team IBSA and my utmost dream is to become a national medalist, while continuing to be a coach to motivate the next generation of athletes.

IBSA is not just an academy, it’s a family, and we believe in discipline, consistency and passion. If I could start with here and change my life, so can you.
